Multi-skilled Tradesperson

Description

We have an opportunity for a Multi-skilled Tradesperson To carry out building repairs, maintenance, renewals and replacements within a multitude of trade disciplines ranging from routine reactive repairs to large-scale programmed refurbishment work and occupational therapy adaptations in occupied and void housing properties and other premises following best trade practice and to current standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

To carry out works to a consistently high standard of quality and customer satisfaction and complete works 'Right First Time'. Repairs and maintenance work require an adaptable approach to delivering services to tenants, leaseholders and other stakeholders. The post-holder will be required to use their skills and judgement in diagnosing building faults to determine the best solution to repair problems.

Qualification – Essential

• GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
• Trade-school qualification or Proof of certified Plumbing and jetting, Carpentry and joinery
• Wet Trades - Plastering, Tiling, Paving, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Roofing, Floor laying, Glazing,
• Health & Safety training relevant to the role
• Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.

• Solid experience as a multi-skilled tradesperson in large-scale building repairs and maintenance refurbishment roles.
• Knowledge of different trade techniques and materials.
• Good communication and professional skills
• The ability to work as part of a team, sometimes outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of material purchasing processes is beneficial.
• Ability to provide quotations and cost estimates to team members.
• Experience in using several types of materials
• Able to demonstrate all aspects of repairs, maintenance, renewals, reactive repairs to major renewals and refurbishment work in occupied and void properties. 
• Able to diagnose the causes of building faults and defects and the most appropriate solution to be applied.
• Able to complete all repairs "Right First Time and to a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
• Take ownership and use initiative to resolve defects and problems, obtaining appropriate guidance.
• Able to ensure safe working methods and full compliance with health & safety regulations.
• Willing to update knowledge and understanding of current standards, principles and best practices appropriate to your specialist trade.
• Able to complete all documentation required for the proper running and administration of the service, including daily work records, material schedules, and requisitions.

Essential Compliance Requirements

• 3 Years References
• Valid UK driving licence
• DBS Disclosure check
