- Description
We are recruiting a Housing Accountancy Officer for a local government client in Central London. You will be responsible for carrying out rent support tasks within a small team with tasks allocated on a rota basis. Tasks will include setting up tenancy starts for residents and non-residents, processing refunds, arranging balance transfers, processing claims for compensation of charges, and processing insurance applications.
Responsibility
You will answer residents' questions about their rent accounts by phone, email, and post, process financial information using housing CRM systems, identify and chase information gaps, and respond to queries from other teams regarding Rent Support work.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Relevant professional level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, CRM-Northgate.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.
Successful candidates will be:
Experience setting up tenancy starts for residents and non-residents.
- Knowledge of processing refunds.
- Experience in arranging balance transfers.
- Knowledge of processing claims for compensation of charges.
- Experience in liaising with insurance brokers for the tenant's contents insurance scheme.
- Able to provide appropriate advice and information on insurance acceptance, claims, and any other insurance-related duties.
- Experience answering residents' phone and email queries about their rent accounts.
- Able to ensure tenant correspondence is dealt with following the timescales.
- Experience in training new staff and system development and testing as required.
- Proven experience in processing financial information in an accurate and timely way.
- Able to identify and chase gaps in information where appropriate.
- Able to maintain systems with accurate data.
- Able to attend meetings and support other teams to improve service delivery.
- Knowledge of Northgate or other relevant computer systems or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate financial information verbally and in writing to residents and colleagues in other teams
- Ability to deal confidently with Budget Holders.
- Strong IT literacy and advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge of financial control frameworks within large IT systems.
- Ability to work as part of a small team.
- Willingness to answer resident phone calls while trying to progress tasks per the rota.
